Welcome to the department!
The Department of Social Anthropology is located on the 8th floor of Lauritz Melzers Hus (Fosswinckelsgate 6). At present the department consists of 15 permanent academic staff, approximately 250 BA students, 40 MA students, 20-30 PhD-scholarship holders and 10 administrative staff.

Study Halls and Computer Rooms
The Faculty of Social Sciences has study halls and computer rooms in four buildings. Master's students have their own desks reserved at the Department of Social Anthropology. There are study halls for students of all levels in Ulrike Phils Hus. 

Library Services
The Social Science Faculty Library lies in Hermann Fossgate 6, vis-a-vis Lauritz Maltzers Hus. A course in library use is offered every semester for students on all levels. Information regarding the opening hours is posted at the library.

The Museum
The departments museum branch is located in the cultural-historical section at Bergen Museum. Reception hours are 08:00-15:00 Monday to Friday. Fax: 555 89 656
