Main content

Have you ever wondered what characterizes innovation leadership and what are the hallmarks of teams that successfully bring innovation projects to completion? How to foster creativity in your organization and create a sustainable innovation culture? How you may develop yourself to become an innovative leader and encourage your team to be courageous in their efforts and ideas? What personal qualifications and “markers” international life science industry leaders are looking for when building well-functioning teams and recruiting trainees and the leaders of tomorrow? What the ultimate benefits of enhancing equity are in the workplace? And how to build trust in academia-industry collaborations?

Learn how to achieve innovation

We welcome you to this very special leadership and innovation seminar where you will have the opportunity to meet Ole Dahlberg, who was brought over from his leadership role in a Norwegian Biotech Company, to become VP & GM at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Sunny California. Thermo Fisher has 100.000 employees worldwide and spends an impressive annual 1 billion USD on R&D projects. Dahlberg highlights the value of collaborations between industry and academia with examples from his own exciting journey, and describes how his passions has taken him from basic research to numerous commercial successes. Knowing his inclusive and empowering leadership style, we expect him to share of his many reflections and tips on how to be prepared to see and exploit great opportunities as they come along.

Dr. Ingunn Johanne Ness is a creativity and Innovation Specialist at UoB, SLATE at the Faculty of Psychology. She will share highlights from her own research on how to lead creative processes, how to stimulate creativity in teams, and what underlying conditions must be present in a group in order to succeed with innovation in education, research projects and industry. Her research was nominated for the Innovation Prize in Psychology of the Year 2017.

Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to meet the experts! The lectures are mandatory for the students attending the new PhD course in Health Innovation CCBIONEUR912, but open to everyone that are interested in the topics. We particularly encourage young researchers, PhD students and PostDocs to attend and ask the experts for advice on how to accelerate your science and innovation projects and your future careers!
