Main content

The document creation system LaTeX  is already the de facto standard in many parts of academia, but it is nevertheless not as widespread as, say, MS Word and other "what you see is what you get"-text editors. This course may be useful if you're about to start a larger written assignment, or you want to, or may feel forced to, use a document creation system that produces beautifully typeset text and mathematics. In other words, if you feel you have to get started with LaTeX, then this course is for you.

The course is held in English.

Content

  • How to create your first LaTeX document
  • Document structure
  • Formatting text
  • Formatting mathematics
  • Pictures tables and figures
  • References and citations

The course content may be adapted depending on the profile of the attending group.

The presenter will use Overleaf (sign up at https://www.overleaf.com), but if you prefer a different LaTeX editor then you are obviously free to use whatever suits you best.
