Interculturalism and Diversities: Developing intercultural models and thinking in the Nordic countries (IDIN).

Main content

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Bergen is the coordinator of IDIN, a Nordic research network in intercultural thinking in the Nordic context.

The network has been established with financial support from NordForsk for 3 years, 2011-2013. It aims at strengthening research co-operation across the Nordic countries and contributing to high quality research training for PhD students in intercultural competence.

IDIN will develop research workshops and joint courses at the doctoral level across the Nordic countries, and offer travel grants for participants in these network activities. The financial support also provides opportunities to cover some of the expenses for a research stay in another Nordic country for both PhD students and more established researchers.
