Courses for new international employees
An essential part of onboarding at UiB is participating in the International Centre's three-part introduction courses.

The courses should be completed in the following order:
Step 1. E-learning
Short e-learning course with introduction to UiB, the services that are available to you and your employee rights. You must have a UiB account to access the course.

Step 2. 3-hour introduction to UiB and Norway
A classroom course that is offered three times each semester. It will teach you the essential information you need when starting a new position at UiB. We recommend you to participate in this course as close to your start date as possible. Topics covered in the course are:
- Norwegian culture
- Your rights and obligations (absence, holiday, safety delegates, trade unions etc.)
- National services (national insurance, pension, taxes, health services etc.)
- Practical information (language courses, UiB courses, mobility, travel, activities etc.)

Step 3. Norwegian culture
Our culture training course is about understanding Norway and Norwegians, how the culture affects the Norwegian work life, and how to take care of yourself when moving to a new country.
