The Institute of Physics and Technology is one of eight institutes that belong to the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. It currently has a permanent academic staff of about 35, 8 professor/associate professor II positions, 30 technical-administrative staff and 30 researchers and postdocs. The Institute has approximately 80 PhD students, 130 master's students and 250 undergraduates. It awards on average 15 Phds and 55 master’s degrees annually and its annual sales total approximately NOK 120 million.
