Polar research at UiB
A variety of scientists at UiB are focusing their research on the polar regions, the Arctic and Antarctica.
These regions play a significant role globally among others due to the climate impact, high abundance of natural resources and the delicate ecosystems.
For the Arctic additional research covers indigenous people, shipping and Arctic governance.
The principal of UiB wishes to promote active polar research at UiB. The polar science network is a common platform for presentation of research and an arena for interdisciplinary collaboration. The network may in the future develop into a interdisciplinary project or research centre.
