Facilities

We make use of a number of facilities, both in-house and through cooperations. Our key competence is the operation of the fission-track laboratory at our department.

The department is equiped with a Neptun multi-collector and an Element-2 single collector LA-ICPMS. In-house co-operation comprises zircon, monazite and titanite U/Pb dating. We are working on in-situ U-analyses for FT analyses. [ more ...]

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences also maintains an electron microscopy laboratory equipped with 3 TEMs and 2 SEMs. We use SEM/CL to reveal mineral zoning, to check F/Cl in fission track analysis and it is used for semi-quantitative studies. [ more ...]
