UiB Staff Mobility Week 2018

SMW-18 was held in the period from 4th to 8th of June 2018.

We received a total of 181 applications,of which the 38 international participants were selected.

Head of International Centre UiB, Nina Gry Stein did the welcoming speech at the opening.
The title of this year’s popular science presentation was "Energy transition in Norway and at UiB". The UiB Energy Director Kristin Guldbrandsen Frøysa presented it.
After the opening, the different groups met, and went for city walk and dinner.
Tuesday evening, the participants had the choice of a hike to Mount Fløien or a visit to Hanseatic museum. 
The all-day excursion was for Modalen, a municipality based on power production. 

SMW-18 offered three different tracks/groups:

Digitalisation of student administration

Use of digital tools and data systems in the administration of student mobility
Presentation of FS (national student data system in Norway)
Experiences with use of online tools in incoming and outgoing mobilities
Transfer of records: Presentation of Norwegian National Diploma Registry and experience from the use of EMREX
Digital processes of recognition, what is there to gain?
Thursday: Full day Online Learning Agreement Conference
Digitalization and Robotization: Projects at University of Bergen

Services for outbound researchers

Researcher presentation: Why is mobility important? 
Discussion: Obstacles and gains to researcher mobility
Presentations: How does the universities handle mobility (out)?
Discussions: What are the challenges at present for research mobility?
Developing services for outward mobility – the case of NTNU.
The case of UiB – what and how did we do it?
Group work / discussions: What are good practice in this field/ what is the ideal system?
Discussions: What can we do together? Can we develop the cooperation from SMW-18 in this field further and continue this learning process?

Communication / Student recruitment

The programme highlighted student recruitment including web and social media, and university branding.
Presentation of UiBs Lab for Learning and Communication, including student facilities.
Workshop: Student recruitment in digital age.
Horizon 2020 - building researchers' profiles.
