Application for fourth exam attempt

Regarding exam attempts

At the University of Bergen, there is generally an upper limit of three exam attempts for each course, according to the Regulations on Studies at the University of Bergen (in Norwegian).

Fourth Exam Attempt

For students who have used three exam attempts on a mandatory course that cannot be replaced by another, a fourth exam attempt is automatically generated in StudentWeb. In such cases, an email will be sent with information about the fourth attempt. All others are referred to the application form on the right to apply for a fourth exam attempt.

The faculty may, upon application, grant one (1) additional exam attempt beyond the three stipulated exam attempts when the course is mandatory in the education plan and necessary for degree completion, cf. Supplementary Rules for the Faculty of Social Sciences (only in Norwegian).
