3D documentation of the stone quarry on Hespriholmen

From the greenstone quarry on the island Hespriholmen, 5 km west of Bømlo, greenstone for adze production has been extracted for at least 6000 years. Now this is being documented by photogrammetry, GIS and film.

Hespriholmen dokumentasjon

Adzes of greenstone from Hespriholmen have been found on Stone Age localities along the entire southwestern coast of Norway.
This is an ongoing research project at the University Museum and the University of Bergen, which aims to use photogrammetry, GIS and film to document quarries from the Stone Age.
