2017: Pål R. Njølstad won the Norwegian Diabetes Foundation Research Award

For the first time, the Norwegian Diabetes Foundation awarded the "Diabetes Foundation Research Award" for excellent diabetes research.

Pål R. Njølstad won the award for his groundbreaking work in the field of genetic diabetes variant, both nationally and internationally, over an extended time period. The ceremony was held in the aula at the University of Oslo on World Diabetes Day (November 14th). The brand new award from the Norwegian Diabetes Foundation was created to honor, inspire and motivate more diabetes research in Norway.

Njølstad is globally renowned in his research field, and has an extensive international network and many important projects
