Michael Bang Petersen, professor at Aarhus University, will give a short lecture on The psychological burden of the COVID-19 pandemic drives anti-systemic attitudes and political violence. 

Michael Bang Petersen is a Professor of Political Sciene at Aarhus University. His work is focused on political and evolutionary psychology and he particularly applies these perspectives to "darker" areas of political life such as misinformation, online hate, violence, discrimination and pandemic behavior. He is a member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters and serves as an advisor to the Danish government during the corona pandemic.

The CORE Lecture Series is organised by the CORE research group (Citizens, Opinion, Representation, and Elections) at the Department of Comparative Politics. Leading international scholars are invited to present their ongoing research on a broad range of topical issues for the research group.

The seminars are funded by the SAMEVAL grant awarded by the Norwegian Research Council.
