Research Training for Bachelor and Masters students.

Our current students are from the Department of Biological Sciences at UiB (BIO), University of Münster, University Paris Cité, Sorbonne University, Heidelberg University, the National Graduate School of Chemistry in Montpellier, France, and the Engineering school of the University of Angers. The Michael Sars Centre offers laboratory training for a period of up to 12 months to Norwegian and international students.

We invite currently enrolled students who are interested in exploring marine animal models for the study of development and evolution to join us. Applicants must be registered in a University that provides adequate theoretical education in molecular biology and/or developmental biology, cell biology, genetics, and marine biology.

Start dates can be set to any time during the year. Applications should include a short CV with a description of educational level and research interest which can be sent to Individual group leaders or Head of Administration.

Applicants will be quickly notified whether they are eligible for our training program at the Sars Centre.

"What interns enjoy about their internship is that the tasks and projects they carry out are very different compared to what they are used to. Biology students are used to working in analysis labs, so doing basic science is very interesting to them," said Group Leader Marios Chatzigeorgiou.

Over the past ten months, research groups at the Centre welcomed five incredibly enthusiastic and motivated bachelor students from HU University of Applied Sciences, Utrecht for their first internship experience.
