The ichthyology section of the Vertebrate collections holds Norway’s largest fish collection containing more than 23,000 lots, including 142 type specimens. Our tissue collection holds more than 5000 tissues and we further recently started a DNA bank. Our research foci lie on biodiversity, evolutionary biology and conservation in Chondrichthyan fishes (sharks, rays and chimaeras).
