Vertebrate Collections

The vertebrate collection contains about 40,000 specimens of >3200 species of fishes, birds, mammals, amphibiens, and reptiles. The material has been collected since ca. 1850, but with the bulk added during the last 70–80 years. Many of the recently collected samples are linked to tissue samples for DNA analysis.
