Welcome to an open seminar organized by the Research group for media use and audience studies, with professor Irene Costera Meijer.

In the seminar, Costera Meijer will give a short talk on the topic of “media experience” – as an analytical concept and empirical research object. She will further discuss how media experiences can be studied, drawing on her considerable expertise with empirical research on changing practices of news use. The talk will be followed by questions and discussion. The seminar is the first in a series outlining different concepts and approaches to the study of embodied, material and emotional aspects of media use.

Everyone is welcome, and we will serve coffee, fruit and cookies.

Irene Costera Meijer is professor of journalism studies at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. For the past two years, she has been professor 2 at the University of Bergen, affiliated with the Research group for media use and audience studies.
