The Pandemic Center invites you to the first Pandemic Breakfast of the fall semester. This time, you can join both in-person and online. Join us for interesting discussions on COVID-19 and future pandemics.

This time, we are pleased to welcome senior medical officer Preben Aavitsland and Ph.D. candidate Sebastian B. Bjørkheim.
They will each present the following topics:
- "Will the next pandemic come from dairy cows in the USA?"
Preben Aavitsland will discuss the possibility of the next pandemic originating from dairy cows in the USA. He will present current research and scenarios that may have implications for future infection control and public health.
Preben Aavitsland is a senior medical officer at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, specializing in infection control, environmental health, and public health. He is also the municipal doctor in Arendal and Froland, the editor of the Journal of the Norwegian Medical Association, and an adjunct professor at the Pandemic Center at the University of Bergen.
- "What do people think about a future pandemic?"
Sebastian B. Bjørkheim will explore how people perceived risk both during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, and how these risk perceptions influence their willingness to follow health guidelines in future pandemics.
Sebastian B. Bjørkheim is a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Social Psychology, which is part of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Bergen. His research focuses on various psychological aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As usual, there will be a light breakfast and coffee/tea for those attending in person.
