Bergen Museum Glass Exhibition

The exhibition presents various glass from Bergen Museum’s collections: jars, cups, wine glasses, Roemer glasses, goblets, and oddities from the Middle Ages to the start of the 1800s.

Main content

There are early, imported Roemer and Berkemeyer glasses, fragments of glorious Venetian glasses, glasses with wings for decoration, and various types of glass beakers from the Middle Ages.  Some of the early pieces are probably of German origin, manufactured before the establishment of glass works in Norway; while others are part of the popular portfolio of glass manufacturers, like, for example, this potpourri pot from Nøstetangen Glass Works in Norway.
