During March/April 2022, printers and copiers on campus were migrated into a new system that manages printing, copying and scanning.

You still use your access card to log in to printers and copiers.

What does this mean when I print?

To print to the system from a UiB PC you must use the printer queues \\print.uib.no\UiBprint or \\print2.uib.no\UiBprint, from a UiB Mac use UiB RICOH UiBPrint (instead of the old "pullprintricoh"). On windows PCs these should be added automatically. For Mac, please see the instructions in KI 1548 Add print queue on a Mac.

From a private computer, mobile phone etc. you now print via myprint.uib.no. This has some new features compared to old mprint. You can choose color printing, single-sided printing and stapling, for a single job or as default. You can also install the driver on your own computer if you need more detailed control of the printout.

For printing from a mobile phone, you can also download the Ricoh myPrint app.

Once you have printed to the new system, the printout can be retrieved on one of the printers/copiers that have been upgraded.

The actual printing takes place as before, though the appearance of the control panel has been updated. You use your key card/student card on the machine to log in and press Print on the control panel. All cards should work with the new system, but if you have never used your cord on a printer before, you may have to register it first.

What does this mean when I copy?

Copying is done as before though the appearance of the control panel has been updated. You use your key card/student card on the copier/printer to log in and press Copy on the control panel. All cards should work with the new system, but if you have never used your cord on a printer before, you may have to register it first.

What does this mean when I need to scan documents?

The functions for scanning have been upgraded, e.g. it is easier to scan documents into editable text. You will find user guides for this in UiBhjelp.

Basic scanning is as easy as before even if the look of the control panel is updated. You use your key card/student card on the copier to log in and press Scan on the control panel. All cards should work with the new system, but if you have never used your cord on a printer before, you may have to register it first.
