The University of Bergen is a comprehensive university with long traditions in a variety of disciplines. I am running for election because I want to contribute to the university embracing all academic environments. Research and educational communication, both internally within the university's faculties and externally, are crucial. We must collaborate and promote our uniqueness and strengths and communicate this clearly to the world outside academia. The university is an attractive and inclusive workplace and study place. My contribution will be to convey important and comprehensive decisions and initiatives to the administrative group I belong to, so that we can move with the times, maintain traditions, and work long-term together.
In my role as a research advisor at the Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design, I am an administrative support for scientific education, research, and artistic research. It is particularly important to support artistic research and contribute to good collaboration with academia in other faculties and with external research and education fields and sectors. My interest is in understanding human interactions within social frameworks and ensuring that the university's decisions at a systemic level are well communicated to the units within the organization.
My educational background is from Norway and the United Kingdom. I have a Cand.mag degree from the University of Bergen and Oslo, as well as a master's degree from Goldsmiths College, University of London. After completing my education, I lived and worked abroad for many years and am therefore focused on how international research and education systems interact with our Norwegian institutions, organizations and industries.
