Catering

Are you planning to serve food and drinks at your event? Here you will find tips and advice on this.

Main content

Catering can be an important part of the event (seminar/conference).

Checklist and Good Tips:

  • Remember that vegetarian is the default at UiB. If you want food with meat products, it must be specified in the order.

  • Get an overview of the serving points (e.g., coffee breaks/lunches/receptions/conference dinners) and contact the relevant supplier (cafe/restaurant/hotel/catering agency).

  • Use UiB's agreements. UiB has framework agreements for catering with several suppliers; see the overview in the agreement portal.

  • Ensure that the order is placed as a purchase order in Unit4. Contact the purchasers at your unit.

  • Does the conference have a special profile? Should the food served match this profile?

  • Collect all food allergies and special needs (vegan/meat) during registration/sign-up. Remember that everyone has paid the same amount for participation and should be ensured equally good service.

  • For international conferences, pork should be avoided.
