Dr. Laura Hankins, Reviews Editor at Development

Dr. Hankins is a Reviews Editor at the journal Development. Her role involves commissioning new front section content and working with authors to take the resulting articles through the peer review and developmental editing stages. She also travels to meetings to promote the journal, stay in touch with the latest research and meet authors. 

She will be speaking about scientific publishing from the perspective of someone who now works for a not-for-profit publisher. She will touch on topics including how to navigate the publishing process as an author, and how to make the switch to a career in publishing.

The event is organised in collaboration with the Molecular Biology student organisation Helix. Snacks will be provided before the talk. Everyone is very welcome to attend!
