The title of Jeff McMahan’s lecture is ”Is it permissible to eat animals that have been humanely raised?”

McMahan has published extensively on a variety of topics, including killing in war, population ethics, personal identity, euthanasia, abortion, and the ethics of eating animals. His books include The Ethics of Killing - Problems at the Margins of Life (OUP, 2002), Killing in War (OUP, 2009), and The Values of Lives (OUP, in press).
