Conference "Geometric Analysis in Control and Vision Theory"
May 9-14, 2016, Bergen/Voss
The conference "Geometric Analysis in Control and Vision Theory" is an international conference, a part of a project supported partly by the Norwegian Research Council and a result of collaboration between France and Norway in the area of geometric analysis, control and vision theory supported by iCODE, the Institute for Control and Decision (Saclay, Paris), and the French National Research Agency. This conference is organized with the aim of providing an extensive overview of some of the main topics of research in Geometric Analysis, Geometric Control, Vision Theory, in particular, focusing on infinite-dimensional Riemannian and sub-Riemannian geometry, shape analysis, image matching, algorithms of image processing, deterministic and random interfaces, geometric mechanics as well as their relations to mathematical physics. We welcome in particular, younger researchers, post-docs and graduate students.

Workshop on differential geometry, geometric invariants, and vision theory
April 23-25, 2015, Bergen.
The main goal of the workshop is to bring together experts in differential geometry with a special emphasis on those topics, which are used in shape analysis, image matching and vision theory. We are interested in Riemannian, sub-Riemannian and conformal geometry, their Lorentzian and other signatures analogs, infinite-dimensional manifolds, first of all, the shape space and shape signatures understood from various viewpoints, from fingerprints and geometric invariants of shapes to computational aspects of vision theory. The goal is to expand and deepen our understanding of interrelations between differential geometry and vision theory. This workshop is aimed to build the national Norwegian team in geometry and its applications, with the strong international profile and cooperation with experts in the related fields of algebra, analysis and differential equations.

- Norwegian summer school on analysis and geometry for PhD students and young researchers
June 24-28, 2013, Bergen, Norway
The aim of the summer school is to highlight the state-of-the-art and perspectives of those domains of analysis and geometry, which have gained wide international recognition lately and to introduce them to Ph.D. students and young researchers.
The scientific program of the school will consist of 5 mini courses of 4-5 hours by invited lecturers, and several one-hour lectures. We also plan to include poster session, where Ph.D. students and young participants can share their results.

- International Workshop on Complex Analysisdedicated to the 65th anniversary of Professor Arne StrayNovember 30 - December 2, 2009, University of Bergen, Norway
This workshop is dedicated to the 65th anniversary of our dear colleague Professor Arne Stray.
Primary research interests of Arne Stray reside in Complex Analysis. His contribution to Approximation and Interpolation Theory in complex domains is reflected in more than 30 papers published in top journals such as Annals of Mathematics, Mathematische Annalen, Proceedings of AMS, etc. He has been successfully collaborating with colleagues from many countries including the USA, Spain, Ireland, and Great Britain.
Professor Arne Stray is the first winner of the Best University Lecture Prize (Foreleserprisen) established in 1996 by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Bergen.
Arne started his career in science in 1964 as a student at the University of Oslo. In 1974 he earned his PhD from this university under supervision of Professor Otte Hustad. In 1971-1985 Arne worked at the University of Agder (formerly Agder distriktshøyskole). Since 1985 Arne Stray is a professor at the University of Bergen.
The workshop will be held at the Department of Mathematics, University of Bergen.Address: Johannes Bruns gate 12, 5008 Bergen.
