Migration and asylum have become key issues in EU politics. The students enrolled in the BA course “European Union institutions, politics, and policies” EUR105 received a visit from a prominent policy actor: Catherine Woollard, Director of ECRE (European Council for Refugees and Exiles), an interest group that gathers more than a 100 NGOs across Europe. Catherine Woollard introduced the EU’s asylum policy from a historical perspective and presented a critical depiction of where it is headed. She also shared some of her experience as advocacy leader in the EU.
