New PhD course in Causal Inference with Observational Data
On 26-27 September Dr. Thomas Däubler will hold a two-day workshop that provides an introduction to statistical methods for causal inference with observational data
Main content
This two-day workshop provides an introduction to statistical methods for causal inference with observational data. We begin with more general considerations, familiarizing ourselves with the Potential Outcomes Framework and Directed Acyclic Graphs. The specific methods to be covered are matching, instrumental variables, difference-in-differences, regression discontinuity and synthetic control. Finally, we briefly discuss some recent applications of machine learning approaches to problems of causal inference.
The deadline for registering is 15 September and completed course participation gives 1 ECTS. PhD candidates, Postdocs and permanent staff are welcome to participate.
