Motivation:
The committee requests the candidate to focus on the transformative potential of technology in promoting inclusive democracy and sustainable development. The lecture should address the following question: How can technology bridge information gaps, enhance civic participation, and promote equitable and sustainable development and responsive governance, especially in marginalized communities on the African continent? In answering this question, the focus should be on the role of digital platforms in voicing concerns and facilitating citizens’ engagement with policymakers, and how and to what extent technology can address economic, environmental, and social challenges.
