Main content
At Bergen Museum, The Cultural History Collections, the newly opened exhibition Fragments from the Past is shown, including a lecture series starting on Wednesday 28 September. The themes this autumn are State and Royal Power and Law and Justice.
The Middle Ages through Exhibitions and Events
The exhibition about Sankta Sunniva and the holy shrine opened on Wednesday 7 September at Bryggens Museum and is a joint collaborative project between Bryggens Museum and Bergen Museum. Sunniva was the only canonised Norwegian saint in the Middle Ages, and one of few female saints in the Nordic Countries. She was the Patron Saint of Bergen, as well as all of Western Norway.
And there’s more; in the Natural History Collections, ”The Monastery” – an exhibition about Munkeliv and other monasteries in medieval Bergen is shown. The exhibition is the result of collaboration between Bryggens Museum and Bergen Museum.
To top it all, Håkonshallen (The Hall of King Håkon Håkonsson) celebrates its 750th Anniversary this autumn, and a number of different events will take place there.
