Online short course "Chemical Hazards in the Work Environment"
The Norhed II project “Safeworkers” presents the first course in the Virtual School of Occupational Health, “Chemical Hazards in the Work Environment”, offered through the online learning platform at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS), Tanzania.
Main content
One of the objectives of the Norhed II project “Safeworkers” is to develop a Virtual school of Occupational Health (OH) for SSA, with online courses at Master’s and PhD level; first in Tanzania and Ethiopia, thereafter in other SSA countries.
This course will be held 2-27 September 2024, and registration is open until 16 August.
Course objectives
The short course is intended to impart participants with the state-of-the-art knowledge and skills on anticipation, recognition evaluation, prevention and control of the chemical hazards in the work environment.
Who should participate?
This course is intended for professionals responsible for the health of employees and the work environment. The course is mainly designed for participants at a master’s level. A good command of English is needed to understand the main aspects of the course. The course is especially targeted to increase the competence in occupational health and will be of interest to anyone who want to understand the relationship between chemical exposures and health, and how this exposure can be prevented. New and experienced health and safety professionals will benefit from a comprehensive review of measurements and control of chemical exposures in the workplace.
