Abstract

Dialetheism is the view that there are true contradictions and thus that the law of non-contradiction does not hold universally. A common object against dialetheism is that the dialetheist does not have the means to express disagreement since "it is not the case that P" and "P is false" does not exclude P from also being true. This paper develops a solution to the problem of exclusion in which validity is used to explicate deniability and assertability in a manner that delivers a suitable device for the dialetheist.
