Upcoming conference with focus on Energy impacts

Several researchers from the Energethics project will present papers during the Energy Impacts Conference taking place at the University of Bergen, February 28 - March 2. All interested are welcome.

Over two and a half days 30 scholars will present their work on energy and its impacts. Four researchers from the Energethics project will present papers, with the following topics:

“Walking the Talk” Attempts of Energy Transition in the Albertan Oil/Tar Sands Region - Lena Gross (University of Oslo, Norway)

Understanding Indigenous Strategic Pragmatism – Indigenous engagement with extractive industry developments in the Canadian North - Tarje Wanvik (University of Bergen, Norway)

Writing responsibility: Corporate reporting of social responsibility in a state owned energy company - Ingrid Birce Müftüoglu (University of Bergen, Norway)

Petroleum in the Barents Region: local content or dreams at sea? - Ragnhild Freng Dale (University of Cambridge, UK)

The conference will also feature the launch of the Energy Anthropology Network. Project leader Ståle Knudsen and Dr. Simone Abram from the Advisory Board will participate in the roundtable and discussion. Simone Abram is also one of the network convenors.

There is no entrance fee to this conference. All interested are welcome.
