Momentum delegate Jerome Picard

Jérôme Picard is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Fine Art, Music, and Design at the University of Bergen and a founding partner of LOCAL, an architecture and urbanism studio focused on health, aging, and spatial transformation. With over 17 years of international experience, Jérôme has held key roles at OMA in the Netherlands and Dominique Perrault Architecture in France. He works across architecture and urbanism with a strong research orientation.

He leads Greymatter, a research initiative addressing aging populations and healthcare through urban renewal, aiming to integrate care into daily life and envision more compassionate societies. The work has received several international awards and recognition for its innovative, intergenerational approach. Jérôme holds a master’s in urbanism from the Architectural Association in London and a master’s in spatial design from École Boulle in Paris. He recently completed a research fellowship at Pratt Institute in New York.

He represents KMD in the Norwegian Interior Architecture Education Committee, is deputy representative to the Department Council, and serves on the Committee for Research and Researcher Training. He is also part of KMD’s working group for the New European Bauhaus, receiving strategic fund for it in 2025.
