Connecting to the UiB network off campus
VPN (Virtual Private Network) establishes a secure network connection between your computer and the UiB network, and gives you the same privileges as if you were physically on campus. Using VPN, you may access your UiB home directory, the University Library’s online resources and the University's printing services. Read more about VPN and how to set it up.
Find more information about working from home or for using a private computer at the It-departements web page.
Important message!
From 30.11.2021, EZProxy will no longer be available at UiB. After this date, you will no longer get a login window when you click a link in Oria/Leganto, and VPN will be the only off campus option to access electronic resources that the University Library subscribes to.
If you experience problems with certain links after this date, the reason might be that the configuration of some resources has not been updated yet. You can try some of the tips listed here.
