Department of Clinical Dentistry

Welcome to Department of Clinical Dentistry

The Department is responsible for the education of dental surgeons and dental hygienists at the University of Bergen.

The programme "Master of Dentistry" is varied with instruction within biological, medical and dental subjects as well as clinical training.

The programme "Bachelor of Dental Hygiene" educates the students in the areas of health promotion and disease prevention.

The Univeristy's Dental Clinic focuses on prevention, diagnostics and treatment of disease and damaged teeth, oral cavity and jaws.

The Department's research facilities and scientific work enviroment maintain a high, international standard. It is also responsible for educating scientists and postgraduate studies in odontology.

New Doctorate at the Department of Clinical Dentistry

Monday 18th of June Ahmad Rashad defended his doctoral dissertation “Wood-Based Nanocellulose Hydrogels for Tissue Engineering Applications”.


EU-millions to bone building-project

Professor Kamal Mustafa at Deparment of Clinical Dentistry leads the first clinical trials on stem cell bone building. The project can lead to new and faster treatment.
