Stefan Thiele

My name is Stefan and i am a postdoc in the Department of Biological Science or BIO for short. I have been active in university politics basically since my bachelor studies and so I have some experiences, e.g. in student committees, as a PhD representative for the Max Planck Institute in Bremen (Germany) and as a board member of the MIT Postdoc Association.

In Bergen I am currently a board member of UiBdoc, but I felt that I could do more and hence I am running for the university board of UiB. During the last 2.5 year at UiB, it became very obvious for me that the members of group B are often forgotten. This might be a covid extension, which only PhD candidates got, this might be the lowest salary rise of all groups at UiB, and this might be the ignorance towards needs of people that do not have permanent positions. All these things are on my agenda and will be brought up in University board meetings.
