The Norwegian Institute at Athens fund: travel grant

The Norwegian Institute of Athens now receive applications for their travel grant. Application deadline February 10.

The Norwegian Institute at Athens Fund was established by the Bergen Museum Research Fund, Robert and Ella Wentzins Fund and the Research Council of Norway.

For 2018/2019 the board will distribute NOK 20.000,-.

The funds object
The object of the fund is to support research activity that takes place at or is linked to the Norwegian Institute at Athens, in areas of the humanities, the social sciences and other disciplines with a connection to Greece. Emphasis will be placed on the project’s scientific quality, relevance to the Institute as well as networking and recruitment.

Who can apply?
Researchers within humanities, social sciences or other disciplines with a connection to Greece.

About the funding

  • Applicants who are granted funding are expected to give a seminar or similar at the Institute.
  • Applicants who are not granted funding from The Norwegian Institute at Athens Fund will be considered for the Institute’s travel grant.
  • Allocation will take place in March/April 2018 and the funds must be put to use within a year of this date.
  • A project report must be submitted within 3 months after the journey.
