Election of Safety Delegates

At the University of Bergen (UiB), safety delegates are elected at all levels, and the election therefore takes place in three stages:

• Local Safety Delegates
• Chief Safety Delegates at faculties/ museum/library/sentral administration
• The University's Chief Safety Delegate

First, employees elect their local safety delegates. These delegates then elect the chief safety delegates, who in turn elect the University's Chief Safety Delegate.

All employees within a safety area/chief safety area have the right to nominate candidates. Safety delegates should be elected from among employees who have experience and insight into the organization's working conditions. The administartion language at UiB is norwegian.

Local Safety Delegates

You may submit nominations to your manager/election coordinator within your safety area by 11 September.

Each safety area shall elect one Safety Delegate and one Deputy Safety Delegate.

The election must be completed by 25 September.

Chief Safety Delegates at faculties/museum/libery/sentral administration

You may submit nominations to the manager/election coordinator within your chief safety area by 9 October. A safety delegate or an employee who currently holds or has previously held an elected staff representative position at UiB may be elected as a Chief Safety Delegate.

Each chief safety area shall elect one Chief Safety Delegate and one Deputy Chief Safety Delegate.

The election must be completed by 16 October.

University's Chief Safety Delegate

UiB has a coordinating Chief Safety Delegate, the University's Chief Safety Delegate, and a deputy. A safety delegate or an employee who currently holds or has previously held an elected staff representative position at UiB may be elected as the University's Chief Safety Delegate.

You may submit nominations to the Central Election Committee by 23 October by sending an email to the Election Committee.

The election will be completed by 30 October
