Waste handling at the university

The university's units, faculty, staff and students are to produce as little waste as possible and waste that is produced should be disposed of in a safe and justifiable manner.

Think waste management already when purchasing!
All waste management starts with purchasing. As early as in procurement there shall be investigated if any remnants, product and/or equipment from use, may be disposed or recycled in a safe and justifiable manner. This applies to all waste, but is especially important for problematic waste, hazardous waste, waste from ionizing radiation sources, as well as compounds that are or might be explosive.

Substitution obligation
When using hazardous chemicals or ionizing radiation sources, substitution shall be considered.
