Semester start at the Faculty of Law
We are so pleased to be able to welcome exchange students to the University of Bergen this autumn, and we would like to invite all new international law students to an information meeting on Friday 13th August. Below you will find more information about the start of the semester.
The official semster dates for the autumn semester is 9th August to 20th December.
Although things are slowly starting to get back to normal, there will still be an atypical start to the semester. UiB cannot offer an in-person Welcome Programme for new international students during the first week, like we usually do, but we hope to be able to gather all the new international law students for an Information Meeting on the 13th August at the Faculty of Law. More information will be provided later.
The start of your lectures will depend on which courses you have chosen, as the courses have different start dates. The schedules are now available in the online courses descriptions. We will do our best to record or stream at least the first lectures so that students in quarantine do not miss out on any of the teaching. Please note that we do not offer "distance exchange", meaning that you cannot remain in your home country while being a student at UiB, even if classes are made available online.
During the autumn semester we are planning to offer in-person classes in all English law courses but this is of course always subject to local and national restrictions. The situation can change on short notice and even multiple times during the semester, so nothing is absolute and we will need to adapt as we go along. If we at any point cannot offer in-person teaching, we will of course offer digital classes instead.
Please feel free to send us an email at email@example.com if you have any questions regarding your courses and the semester start at the Faculty of Law. For questions regarding acceptance letters, quarantine, off-campus regsitrations etc. please contact the International Team at UiB (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Sammen (for questions regarding housing).
