Contemporary Aesthetics Research group
The cross-disciplinary research group „Contemporary Aesthetics“ consists of researchers and guest-researchers from the Department of Linguistic, Literary, and Aesthetic Studies (LLE) and the Faculty of Social Sciences (SV) as well as local and international partners.
Main content
We share a common interest in contemporary aesthetic procedures, their medial, political and social conditions.
Our aim is to actively engage with current tendencies in the fields of contemporary literature, art and media and thereby work in close relation with different institutions here in Bergen and abroad.
The research group holds regular meetings and discusses current issues in the form of a reading group. Other researchers are invited to give talks; PhD and graduate students are presenting their current work.
We also organize interdisciplinary workshops and conferences at UiB and with our collaboration partners in Bergen.
