Kathy Willis elected to the UK House of Lords

UiB Honorary doctorate and former Professor II with EECRG has been elected to the second chamber of the UK Parliament called the House of Lords. She has been elected a crossbench non-party-political life peer. Her election statement describes her as "an internationally recognised expert on nature and the relationship between biodiversity, climate change, and wellbeing".

Kathy is also Principal (=Rector) of St Edmund Hall (the oldest college in Oxford) and Professor of Biodiversity in the Department of Biology, University of Oxford.

Election to the House of Lords is the highest honour that can be bestowed on an individual in the UK. Kathy's formal title is now Professor Baroness Willis.
