For the second time, the annual Bergen Summer Research School was an online event — this time with special sessions on systems-thinking and innovative digital social activities.
Stein Rokkan would have been 100 years old on 4 July 2021. He was one of the world’s leading political sociologists during the first decades after the Second World War and he played a core role in the development of the social sciences at the University of Bergen in the late 1960s. He established the subject ‘comparative politics’.
One master student from psychology and one from geography receive DIGSSCORE’S Citizen Scholarship for 2021. They are both interested in climate change and behavior changes and will receive 25.000 NOK each. Read more about them here!
Housing has remained one of the fundamentals of every society. However, in Ghana, most of the population lacks decent and affordable housing; the current housing deficit in Ghana is over 2 million.
This year we have two submission deadlines each semester for the master's thesis in geography: 19 May and 2 August in the spring semester and 15 November and 3 January in the autumn semester. 19 students have submitted the thesis this year.

The end of 2020 marked the close of our major project European cities as actors in climate and energy transformation project, funded by the Trond Mohn Foundation. Among the achievements, we are particularly proud of how the project has helped to develop the careers of researchers across the fields of sustainable city planning, governance, communications and media and social movements.
