Has the natural crisis been called off?

Judging by the political debate in Norway, it may seem as if the nature crisis is over. But is that really the case?

Erna Solberg says that nature must give way to more hydropower and Energy Minister Terje Asasland says that power lines are, in fact, some of the most beautiful things in Norwegian nature.

In this op-ed in Klassekampen and a more extensive note, CeSAM leader Vigdis Vandvik, Anne Sverdrup-Thygeson and Dag O. Hessen address those who claim that the nature crisis does not apply to Norway. Because we actually have very good information about how Norwegian nature is doing, and the picture that emerges is far from rosy. Fortunately, there is a lot we can do to stop the loss and deterioration of the fantastic Norwegian nature!
