Terms for physical activity during work hours

  • Exercise during work hours has two objectives; Contributing to a better work environment and to strengthen the employees’ health. 
  • Employees that have a 50 % employment or more, are eligible to spend one hour per week exercising. The arrangement is optional.
     
  • As a main rule it should be done as an organized group activity (E.g. a hiking or running group, yoga group or participating at Sammen's exercise groups for employees). Local activities with coworkers is encouraged. However, activity can be done individually if necessary due to work tasks/ work operation. The activity should be done during ordinary work hours, either at the start or end of the day. In case of this not being possible, the management is encouraged to find other solutions. All activities must be clarified with the line manager.
     
  • As an alternative to local activity with coworkers, it is possible to participate in some group activities with an instructor at Studentsenteret. During these hours the swimming pool and gym are also available for UiB employees. Contact Sammen for informaton about free activitys for UiB employees.
  • Transportation to or from work (biking, running and so on) is not considered as exercise during work hours.
