Easter in the Arboretum and Botanical Garden

Easter is just around the corner and it's time to decorate both outside and inside.

The Milde crocuses are a little later than usual this year, but we expect the garden to be decorated with its blue carpet for Easter. It is also blooming elsewhere in the gardens, and the spring heather in Lynghagen is at its finest at this time. At the Rhododendron species collection at Mørkevatnet, things have also started to stir.

In Bergen Botanic Garden, most of the action is in the alpine garden (Fjellhagen) - both spring flowering bulbs and Saxifraga have started to bloom. And if you look, you can find spring flowering both here and there elsewhere in the garden too.

The sports team Gneist has put out new poles ('stolpe') in the gardens and the pole hunt opens on 31 March, so there will be many new ones to hunt for at Easter.

The Blondehus cafe (Arboretet) opens for the season on Sunday 26 March.
The cafe is open on Sundays in April from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m

Extra opening hours during Easter:
Maundy Thursday - cafe open on Sunday
Good Friday - Sunday open cafe

1st Easter Sunday - cafe open on Sunday
2nd Easter Sunday - cafe open on Sunday

Icookkitchen in Bergen Botanic Gardens will not open until April 15 this year.

Would you like to help decorate the Blondehus garden for Easter?

We hang out some decorations for Palm Sunday, and would love to see more people join in and make the tree nice for Easter.
Just make sure that the decoration can withstand a little water, should the rain come.

Happy Easter
