Professor Christine S. Hvidberg (Niels Bohr Institue, University of Copenhagen) and researcher Didier Paillard (Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l’Environnement, France) were opponents. Professor Andreas Born (Department of Earth Science, UiB) was internal member of the committee, and Professor Ulysses Silas Ninnemann, Department of Earth Science, UiB, led the defence.
