The Department of Earth Science was established January 2003 by merging the 'Department of Geology' and the 'Department of Solid Earth Physics'. The department is located on the 3rd. and 4th. floors at the southern end of the University's Science Building. Research is carried out within 4 thematic groups: 'Geophysics', 'Quaternary geoljogy and Paleo Climate', 'Geodynamics and Basin studies' and 'Geochemistry & Geobiology'.
The department has more than 110 research positions and 34 technical/administrative positions. Our employees are from more than 30 different countries.
