Main content

Throughout 2023, the University of Khartoum (UofK), the Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI), and the University of Bergen mark 60 years of academic collaboration between Bergen and Sudan. Because of the ongoing war in Sudan, we will focus on the current situation by arranging events, exhibitions, and activities in Bergen.

The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Sudan has funded the Sudan-Norway Academic Cooperation (SNAC) programme. An amount of NOK 40 million is awarded to new academic projects between Bergen and Sudan, to be distributed between now and the end of 2027.

On this page we will gather background articles, interviews, videos, and other Bergen/Sudan material from the university's archives.

Here you find the timeline of the Bergen-Sudan cooperation.
