Kappe – what and how?
On 3 May Sampol and Admorg jointly organised the seminar "Kappe – tips, tricks and experiences" for all interested PhD candidates at SV

PhD coordinators Martina Vukasovic and Cornelius Cappelen opened the seminar by trying to demystify the kappe for the participants who came from several departments, and attended both in person and on Zoom.
They pointed out that the Kappe can be a useful tool to bring forth and emphasise the cohesiveness of the thesis by linking research questions and conclusions presented in the articles. The kappe is also a good opportunity to position oneself – and to show readers that one is an academic expert in the research field. Michael Alvarez followed up on this by reflecting on what an evaluation committee might focus on when they assess the kappe.
The seminar was concluded by former PhD candidates Espen Stokke and Hanne Kvilhaugsvik, who both gave valuable tips and shared from their own experiences of writing the kappe.
